Experiential workshop: How Does Sorrow Find a Home?
Grief is a poorly understood and stigmatized topic in our society, often leading those to have experienced loss to feel even more lost and alone. Grief can present in physical or emotional ways and often our loved ones do not how to support us well, despite their good intentions. It can be difficult to put into words the practical, emotional, psychological and existential/spiritual impacts. Art is way of healing that is frequently very helpful to those that grieve. Joy Redstone, an LCSW with 30 years experience and a working artist has designed a workshop that explains the grief process, debunks common myths and explains how art helps people heal. The second half of the workshop is an experiential art making process that helps participants express their feelings by making a small piece of art. General materials provided. Feel free to bring a special item or two to add to your piece. Cost is $35
